The Indiana Division of the United States Canoe Association
held the 43rd Annual Sugar Creek Canoe and Kayak Races, on Saturday, April
30, 2005. Special thanks go out to the individuals who made this race
happen, they include: Bob Stwalley, Ann Bennett, Diane
Crisp, Crawfordsville Journal Review, Crawfordsville Fire Department and
Rescue Team, Indiana DNR representatives.
The water level for this years race was excellent and flow was 561 cf/s with
a water height of 2.23 feet. There were channels of premium water to
be found throughout the course. Along with the water being in excellent
condition, the weather was nearly perfect. At race time, the temperature
was 52 degrees with sun and just a brief misting of rain about 1/2 way through
the race.
