As normal Ponts race was fantastic.
After the race we met at Americus in the family room as the restaurant
didn't open till 4:30 and we were ready at 3:15 to meet. We filled a
table with 10 persons - wish you were there - had killer tenderloins and
fries and other good stuff - lots of coffee as we were all a bit wet
from the day. The river was high so the times were great - Dan the
machine established a new record time - check the web site - me, I was
third out of a field of three - Steve called to see if I was going - I
wasn't but went anyway and shaved 14 min off last years time - cool.
The Meeting:
Pat Oakley took notes.
Deb Knost did the treasurers report.
Pat Oakley to proxy for Roger Crisp as our delegate.
Main business was to figure out how to award the orphaned trophies. If
no one qualifies for a particular trophy then we will use Pat Oakley's
race late in the season to determine who the winner is in a single race.
This will only happen to trophies which do not have anyone qualified to
win them. It is my hope that the open trophies will be announced in
advance of the race to allow for the largest participation. I also hope
no trophies have to be awarded in this manner.
We discussed trying to make a tee shirt design for the summer. We would
kind of like to have tee shirts at races if we could figure out how to
do it in an affordable way.
We discussed trying to have a water party with activities like save the
watermelon. Need ideas - fast float a trip - who knows? Be nice to get
together and party.
